After four days...I have finally finished my thoughts on the Oscar fashions. There were so many fantastic dresses and then there were the few that shouldn't have even been made...so here we go! (here is the website so you can look at the dresses: http://oscars.movies.yahoo.com/photos/gallery.html;_ylt=ApLDjT2RuQkioYkgE9n2TE51VLcF?id=88&type=primary&curr=1 )
I am going to start, in no particular order, with the bottom 6:
Sarah Larson - This dress was horrible! I am so bumbed because it's a Valentino, but he really should have picked another material or color palette to make this dress.
Miley Cyrus - She was hard for me, because she did look decent this year. She didn't look like she was twenty-somthing...but yet she could have picked a better dress. This was a Vintage Valentino...but I think she could have looked her age wearing something else.
Ellen Page - This girl has worn black to every red carpet event that I have seen her attend! I was so hoping that she was going to wear a color! And this was a vintage dress...I really don't think it flattered her at all. It made her look way older than she was. (Ellen, next time wear some color!)
Tilda Swinton - First...I want to congratulate her on her win...so Congrats! But honey...seriously...where on earth did you find that sack! My mouth dropped when I saw her walk down the red carpet...and no make-up!! She would have looked so beautiful with some make-up on and a different dress - well anything would have been better than this!!
Julie Christie - Okay...now I know that you like to design your own clothes toots...but you could have done better than this! The pink gloves with the crimson dress...way too much! I know you want coverage as you get older...but take some lessons from Helen Mirren!!
Renee Zellweger - This dress made her look so washed out...with her complextion and her hair color. She looked like she had rolled out of bed and put a dress on and ran to her limo so she wouldn't be late! She has done better...
Alright, in no particular order, here is the top 6 for the 2008 Oscars!
Kristen Chenoweth - She looked fantastic! She picked the perfect dress (she's 4 '11 btw) and the strapless looked great on her! I wish she would have chosen a dress with color, but she still looked amazing!
Marion Cotillard - This girl has guts! I absolutely love that she chose something that no one else would wear!! She got a lot of criticism for wearing this...but I love it! She looked amazing!
Heidi Klum - She rocked the carpet! I heard one critic say, "This was a night for an actress and a supermodel came in and totally stole the limelight!" I completely agree...Galliano dressed her well!
Penelope Cruz - I loved this dress because it fit her like a glove and it was so beautiful! I love all the detail...this was definately one of the best dresses on the carpet!
Jennifer Garner - Jen, I just wanted to say...that I was scared for you when Gary Bussy kissed you on the carpet! You poor thing...but your dress was the bomb! She looked absolutely breathtaking...from the hair and make-up to the detail of the dress!
Kelly Preston - I put her on the top 6 because she wore a dress that wasn't black...or navy...or purple! The color was beautiful...almost like a goldenrod! Props to you girl...you looked amazing!
And here are the ladies that looked amazing...and deserved to at least be mentioned!
Calista Flockhart - Nicole Kidman - Jessica Alba - Katherine Heigl - Anne Hathaway - Laura Linney - Helen Mirren - Cameron Diaz - Diane Lane - Hilary Swank - Keri Russel - Jennifer Hudson - Rosamund Pike
Can't wait till next awards season!
